Superior #2

Superior Schoolhouse District 2, built in 1894. This schoolhouse served the students of the surrounding communities until 1950, despite the fact that most of Superior had been destroyed in a tornado almost a century before. Superior was the first town and county seat for then Weller County (later renamed Osage County). Superior lost out to Topeka by two votes in becoming the Capitol city of Kansas.
